Strut Brace 4-point - Challenger/Charger

Preparation:

1. Disconnect the negative (ground) battery cable.

Removal:

2. Remove the two windshield wiper arms by first lifting the cap covers and then removing the retaining nuts using a 15 mm socket.

3. Remove the five push pins securing the black plastic cowl cover. Next, remove the two end push pins retaining the foam rubber seal, taking care not to tear it. Remove the cowl cover.

4. On the passenger side, remove the two bolts securing the factory brace.

5. Repeat this procedure on the driver side.

6. Remove the factory brace. Remove the factory rubber grommet and transfer it to the new brace tab. Secure it using the existing bolts provided with the new strut brace.

7. Remove the three nuts from each strut tower.

Installation:

8. Position the Speedlogix strut brace onto the vehicle.

9. Reinstall the wiper motor onto the strut brace.

10. Reinstall the factory ECU in its original location.

11. Reinstall the factory bolts on both sides and snug them down. Do not overtighten.

12. Reinstall the strut tower nuts and tighten securely. Do not overtighten.

13. Reinstall the black plastic cowl cover, foam seal, push pins, and end caps.
Note (2006 models only): A hole must be drilled to reinstall the small passenger-side cover.

14. Reinstall the windshield wiper arms.

15. Reconnect the battery.

16. Test drive the vehicle and enjoy your new Speedlogix strut brace.

Additional Notes by Vehicle Type

3.5L LX Models

To install the strut brace, the throttle body bracket attached to the valve cover must be notched to provide adequate clearance.

Hellcat Models

When installing the strut brace on Hellcat models, follow the above instructions with the following additional steps:

Note: No hoses need to be disconnected during this installation.

  1. Remove the 10 mm nut securing the intercooler reservoir to its bracket and carefully move the reservoir aside.
  2. Remove the three strut tower nuts as described in Step 7 and set the reservoir mounting bracket aside.
  3. Install the Speedlogix strut brace. Reinstall the reservoir mounting bracket on top of the new brace, tighten the nuts, and reinstall the intercooler reservoir.
  4. On Charger models, trim the firewall cover as necessary for proper clearance.
